Cool Game for Adventure Fans

Down Under is an adventure game that takes place deep in the sewer system of a city. Players take on the role of a young man who is taking his dog for a walk. The dog suddenly detects something and dashes off into the sewers, leaving players with no choice but to follow. It quickly becomes clear that the sewer is full of menace, but players have to follow blindly in pursuit of their wayward pooch.

Going Deeper Underground

Down Under gets off to a strong start with a cool storyline and detailed artwork. The controls are easy to master, which allows players more time to focus on the game play. The sewer system features a maze of twists and turns and dead ends and although players can use the light in their mobile phone to lead the way, the batteries quickly die and plunge them into darkness.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

With its cool and colourful artwork combined with atmospheric sound effects and music, Down Under draws players into the game straight away. Although the game gets off to a strong start, the affect is diminished as soon as the lights go off as it is very difficult to control the character or avoid danger.

PROS

  • Impressive artwork and sound effects
  • Strong feeling of menace

CONS

  • Enemies are almost impossible to defeat
  • May be too scary for some gamers
